CVaaS Extended Vehicle Service

Introduction Copied!

The CVaaS ExVe (Extended Vehicle) Service provides API access for third parties to vehicle data that has been explicitly granted by vehicle owners.

This is an ISO 20078 service which establishes a standardized, secure framework for accessing data, aggregated information, and functionalities from connected vehicles via interoperable web services.

Utilizes widely-adopted approaches such as OAuth 2.0 & OpenID Connect 1.0 for authentication, and JSON over REST for data.

API responses are in JSON which mirrors the data hierarchy and naming specified by the COVESA Vehicle Signal Specification (VSS)

API Features Copied!

This API is the ‘ISO 20078-2 Access’ component which provides vehicle-centric data to users (‘accessing parties’) which are authorized into the CVaaS ExVe Service. Access to vehicle data must first be granted by the vehicle owner, which can be requested by the accessing party, or pre-authorized by the owner.

This API supports:

  • Querying the vehicles that the caller has authorized access to.

  • Accessing the latest data for all authorized telemetry for a specified vehicle.

  • Requesting detail about a specific piece of telemetry for a specific vehicle, which includes recent historical values.

  • Accessing data by direct resource names, or though grouped resources in containers.
